What is Spot the Pair?
The Game
One grid. Subtle matches. One clock.
Spot the Pair is an observation challenge played on a full grid of tiles. Each tile contains a pattern — most are unique, but some are near-identical pairs hidden across the grid.

Your task is to scan quickly and identify the two tiles that match.

Tap both tiles to lock in the pair. Correct matches score points and keep your momentum. Missed or incorrect taps break your flow and cost valuable time.

The faster and more accurately you clear pairs, the higher your score climbs on the leaderboard.

How to Play
30 seconds to learn
  1. Scan the 20-tile grid
    Every grid has exactly 20 tiles, each showing a unique coloured icon. Somewhere in there, two tiles are identical — everything else is unique.
  2. Tap one tile to select it
    Your first tap highlights the tile in yellow. Tap it again to deselect if you change your mind — no penalty.
  3. Tap its match to confirm
    Correct: both tiles dissolve, you score points, and a fresh grid instantly spawns with a new hidden pair. Wrong: −5 points, streak resets, grid briefly stuns.
  4. Build your combo
    Every 5 correct pairs raises your multiplier: ×2 at 5, ×3 at 10, ×4 at 15, ×5 at 20. One mistake resets it to ×1. Speed also earns bonus points for sub-1.5s reactions.
  5. Five rounds, one minute each
    Rounds get harder — later rounds introduce near-identical decoys from the same visual family as the pair. Your score carries across all five rounds.
  6. One attempt per day
    Everyone plays the same daily puzzle. Ties are broken by: pairs found, then average reaction time (lower is better), then accuracy. Your global rank updates the moment you finish.
